This week I started a three-month contract as the Social Media Editor at GOOD Magazine. I am running daily content & all social channels.
This is the first time that I’ve been fully integrated into a professional media organization since my departure from Current TV in 2010. This is also a welcome escape from the poverty of being a freelance writer. This role may grow to include some writing opportunities for fellow members of the precariat. Let’s stay in touch.
It’s noteworthy that the position is Social Media Editor and not Social Media Manager because it marks editorial’s reconquest of social from marketing. It’s the understanding that content is more valuable than Hootsuite hacks. I see this trend elsewhere across the digital media landscape, and I think thats good news for everybody.
